Lhasa to Xian Train and Lhasa to Xian Train Schedule

Lhasa to Xian Train Z263/Z266/Z163/Z166/T221/T224 Route: Lhasa-Nakchu-Golmud-Xining-Lanzhou-Xian; Distance: 2864km; Duration: about 33.5 hours, 2D/1N; Departure Frequency: daily; Ticket Price of sleeper berth: from RMB650 to RMB1008.

At present, there is no train starting from Lhasa to Xian, but there are several trains that make stops in Xian, such as the trains from Lhasa to Shanghai, Guangzhou,Chongqing. Therefore, it is easy to get a train ticket from Lhasa to Xian.

About ticket price:

The ticket prices above are the net price. In reality, as traveling in Tibet is so popular that the actual ticket demand far exceeds the supply, in-bound and out-bound tourists have to pay more than the net price to buy tickets. The actual price is subject to the market fluctuation. In some cases, the actual price could be double than the net price. Despite the uncertainty and difficulty in purchasing train tickets, Travel Tibet China would manage to book tickets at a reasonable price ( usually 20 percent lower than the market price) and promise to offer free service for it. If tourists only want to buy train tickets via Travel Tibet China without intending to travel to Tibet, Travel Tibet China will have to charge a small amount of service fee.

Notice：

a.One thing to pay attention to is to find out which train will pass Xian. So far, there are only three trains that stop at Xian Station, i.e. Lhasa---Shanghai (Z166), Lhasa---Guangzhou (Z266), Lhasa---Chongqing (T224).

b.If one fails to buy tickets to Xian, you may first buy tickets to Xining and then move to Xian from Xining.

c.There is not fixed railway route to Xian and the schedule of train is changed sporadically by the ministry of railway. So, the best solution is to find a trustworthy local travel agency to book train tickets before departure.
