Lhasa to Beijing Train Travel Guide

At present, there is a daily train from Lhasa to Beijing（Z22) run by China Railways. The Lhasa-Beijing train takes about 40:50 hours to cover 3757 kilometers, of which 1110 km are over Qinghai-Tibet railway. It departs from the Lhasa Railway Station at 15:30 pm and arrives at Beijing West Railway Station at 08:20 am on the third day after nearly 40:50 hours. Its operational speed is 120 kmh, 100 kmh over sections laid on permafrost. The Lhasa to Beijing railway route began in July 2006 and presently costs around RMB1200 for a first-class sleeper berth, around RMB800 for a second-class sleeper berth and half that for a hard seat.

The ticket prices above are the net price. In reality, as traveling in Tibet is so popular that the actual ticket demand far exceeds the supply, in-bound and out-bound tourists have to pay more than the net price to buy tickets.
